Turn your go-fast dreams into reality! Specialized's Epic Expert Carbon World Cup is the machine to make it happen. It rocks 95mm of Brain-controlled FSR rear suspension and a 95mm SID fork for unprecedented climbing and confident descending. The state-of-the-art FACT 10M-carbon frame is not only light, it's also super stiff for lightning-fast accelerations and pinpoint handling. Plus, this XC-rocket is equipped with a stellar component package: a full SRAM X01 1x11 drivetrain for flawless, lightning-fast shifting, featherweight Roval Control carbon wheels, and a set of wonderfully powerful Magura MTS disc brakes. And, don't forget about Specialized's grippy tires that keep you hooked up to the trail no matter how hard you rail the turns.

Specialized FSR Rear Suspension

Specialized's FSR suspension offers plush travel, incredible control, unbeatable traction and an overall awesome ride because it's completely unaffected by pedaling and braking forces. This design also eliminates "bobbing" for optimum climbing and acceleration.

Specialized Brain

The Brain is the mastermind behind Specialized's ultra-efficient suspension designs. It automatically turns the suspension on and off almost instantaneously to provide the perfect ride. An inertia valve mounted inside a near-vertical cylinder near the rear axle controls the shock's ability to compress; the resulting system responds to terrain input (bumps and dips), but not to rider input (pedaling). All Brains also feature Brain Fade technology which allows you to control the breakaway threshold of the inertia valve. This turns your Brain from ultra rigid and efficient to super plush and active.

This frame utilizes Specialized’s advanced FACT IS (Integrated Structure) construction method. By separating the frame into four main parts — the front triangle, seat tube/bottom bracket, chainstays and seatstays — Specialized is able to optimize each carbon piece for its specific purpose and create a structure that’s incredibly light, impeccably stiff and impressively strong.

Comments:

Got this bike in January, but wanted to put it though some races before the review. One word sums it up: WOW! I have taken serious time off some courses I did last year on a lighter hardtail. The bike is so smooth, you can pedal much more efficiently than on my HT. I said it was a tad heavy: 24.5 lb for a large. But, it climbs faster than my lighter HT bike. I have so much more confidence downhill - it feels like the bike in on rails. If you can afford the ticket, it is truly an awesome bike.
